About the Sports Ophthalmology Society

The Sports Ophthalmology Society is a newly established initiative dedicated to advancing eye care, safety, and vision performance for athletes across all levels of competition. Our mission is to unite ophthalmologists who contribute to the visual health and performance of athletes nationwide.

We are compiling the first comprehensive roster of ophthalmologists currently providing care across major professional sports leagues, including the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and other professional leagues.

In collaboration with national leaders, we are creating resources for early career sports ophthalmologists -- providing career guidance and educational opportunities.

We are gaining support from a robust network of sports ophthalmologists. Members help shape best-practice guidelines, advocacy priorities, research directions, and mentorship opportunities.
